The Science and art of human Movement Performance
Sports
Genesis Method is a systematic process that functionally aligns the body utilizing a biomechanically based system combining advanced assessment, treatment and corrective training program strategies.
Genesis Method has built a solid track record of advancing an athlete's performance while simultaneously reducing their risk of injury. We work with athletes ranging from the young aspiring to professional elite level and athletic teams at various capacities. This typically includes collaborating with Athletic Trainers, Team and Strength coaches for needs and goals.
Prerequisite for Sports
The quickest and most common way to end an athlete's career is due to injuries. Unfortunately, injuries tend to occur more than necessary among athletes because of the stresses put on the body from high intensity movements combined with improper exercise progression. A training and treatment program should ideally prepare the body to endure and perform well during the forces exerted with sport activities. However, a program that is poorly written, executed, improperly progressed and lacking an extensive corrective component may potentially reinforce compensation and muscular imbalances creating a condition for suppressed performance and increased risk of injury.
Building a foundation is fundamentally key to sports performance durability. There is a hierarchy relationship for developing certain abilities to a reasonable level before aggressively attempting to enhance others. Proportionally focusing on stability, mobility, endurance and strength abilities prior to emphasizing performance abilities such as power, speed and agility is the blueprint for a strong base of foundation. In fact, without the appropriate groundwork being laid first, an athletes performance potential declines and a plateau may be prematurely reached.
Performance Training
Genesis Method utilizes data derived from our assessment methods to create sport specific training and therapy programs aligned with goals, needs, and type of sport. As trained biomechanics specialist, we properly progress our athletes through their program while modifying and teaching precise technique on every exercise included. Mobility, stability, strength and endurance are prioritized as pillars before progressing to performance movement abilities. Then power, agility and speed are strategically adapted into the performance design phase with each training movement being tailored to our athlete's unique biomechanics.
